In a shock revelation ahead of the much-anticipated general election announcement, the People’s Republic of Mortimer can reveal that key Labour players have decided the Head of State’s posts on Lib Dem Voice are “too boring, involved, complex and accurate”* to respond to.

Said Alix Mortimer: “I couldn’t believe it! I got back from a pleasant evening at my local with a Chinese takeaway expecting to find a meaningful response to my earlier posts on Lib Dem Voice concerning UK domiciled tax status, and there was nothing there, literally nothing! The last three posts were from me!”

Mortimer had earlier lambasted the Tories for their “laughably simplistic” tax policies and corrected a Labourite on an obscure point of tax law, to a resounding chorus of silence from these and other commentators.

Chris Paul, a well-known Mancunian Labourite, said, “         “, which Mortimerites are interpreting as a damning indictment of her verbosity and over-precise knowledge in the area of tax, which is causing Labour and Tory advocates alike to flee for the hills before a barrage of tedious accuracy.

Mortimer: “I can only conclude that Labour and Tory readers and contributors of Lib Dem Voice are completely uninterested in tax law and the domicile question as highlighted by today’s new Tory policy and even more uninterested in my lengthy and detailed contributions to the debate thereof. I have a good mind to take my wares elsewhere!”

It remains to be seen however whether she will in fact eschew Lib Dem Voice for good or just creep back on there tomorrow as usual.
